Middle Punch Therapy

Cold floor.

No clean cups.

Mismatched socks.

Empty cereal box in cupboard.

Every single red light from home to work.

Three calls from the child’s school: teacher, counselor, principal.

Pause for middle punches on the bag. Many middle punches.

Smooth ride back.

Favorite song.

Calm talk with the child.

Take out for dinner.

Kitchen dancing.

  1. How absolutely lovely. I really enjoyed how the poem and the day both became a true reflection. You are so skilled in your craft – so succint and yet so descriptive. Your posts always prompt a moment of my own reflection.
