I would argue that there is nothing preordained. There are no predetermined course of events.  We are locked into a path only by our unwillingness to move in an alternate direction.

But I wonder sometimes if things don’t happen for a reason.

Had a young teenager come for her first lesson.  She had rescheduled it several times and was finally making it in.  This same day – we had a walk in – a teenage girl, the same age looking for martial arts and a place to meet people as she had recently moved here.

They were two peas in a pod.  Almost instantly friends.  Other students were surprised to discover they were not somehow related.

Still waiting for my connection.  Probably missed it.
